An amazing new park is breaking ground in Innerarity Point near Perdido Key.
The park sits on 3.38 acres of land and will include 2 playground structures, a bench area, small and large covered pavilions with grills, a dock for fishing as well as launching kayaks and paddle craft, restrooms with rinse off areas, as well as on-site parking. This park will be an absolutely amazing addition to the Perdido Key area and will be a wonderful opportunity for the public to enjoy use of the waterfront in addition to the neighboring Galvez boat launch (located just one street over). It will also have a high vantage point allowing for very broad views of the Intracoastal and the area’s breathtaking scenery.
This park is actually the first waterfront park in our county designed from the ground up to be ADA-compliant so that everyone has access to the water.
The project is part of the Florida Coastal Access Project using funds from the Natural Resources Damage Assessment (NRDA) caused by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which covers 100% of the costs to build this monumental park. This will be a wonderful asset to the Innerarity Point and the Perdido Key area.
